Chainies - Pottery and China fragments
Each of these unique fragments of pottery and china were collected from the shores of Newfoundland. They are fixed with a sterling silver bail so you can attach your pendant to your favourite chain - or add a new one to your order!
What are Chainies?
The term “Chainies” originated in Ireland during the “Great Depression” in the 1930’s. Children would find fragments of pottery and glass to play a game of “Chainies”.
During the same period, people used Chainies to decorate the tops of graves by placing fragments in the shape of a cross - how beautiful!
